Fine looking betta. Got one just like him in my office; rambunctious little squirt.
Remember to keep the filter-flow very low — too much current tends to shred their long fins (their natural habitats are still-water bodies, like ponds). Also see if you can teach him to jump for his food!

I’m sorry I missed the big reveal! Welcome to Mr. Picasso.
I had a beta at work for over two years – he was fun to have around. To be mean, my coworker would sometimes take a mirror that she had in her desk and put it in front of the vase which made my beta (Skippy) puff up since he thought he was being attacked by another fish. I heard that betas can die from over-anxiety from doing that to them. So, don’t let him see another beta or a mirror! :-)
